Insider Scoop

The Low Down

It is interesting as how your perception of yourself changes over the years.

Six months ago the description would have been - Middle aged wife, one husband, three cats, a job, a house, and a hobby that takes up too much time.

Now? Too young widow, trying to figure out how to exist in her new world. Still have three cats, a job, a house and a hobby. But how I few all of that has changed.

I grew up in California on a small farm. Both parents are teachers, so you can imagine I was never the wild child. I read. A lot. No seriously. I'm a gamer, a geek, a nerd. I've played WoW (and still miss it), write fanfic, and spend too much time in the Marvel universe.

For now I am a woman who doesn't know who she will be in a year from now. But then, isn't that true of all of us?

Books I love

So books. I love books. I have a library (well mine and my husbands) that is over 3000 novels. But there are certain books you go back to time and time again, or that never left you no matter how many years ago you read them. So here is my list of books that I will never forget.

Executive Orders - Tom Clancy
Patriot Games - Tom Clancy
Path of the Fury - David Weber
Black Stallion - Walter Farley
King of the Wind - Margaret Henry
Little House on the Prairie - Laura Ingalls Wilder
The Last Herald Mage - Mercedes Lackey
The White Dragon - Anne McCaffery
Tarzan - Edgar Rice Burroughs
The Stand - Stephen King
A Knight in Shining Armor - Jude Deveraux
So You Want to be a Wizard - Diane Duane
Knightfall - DC Comics
Myth Adventures - Robert Asprin
Asterix & Obelix (all of them) - R. Goscinny

As you can see I read pretty much everything. While I can talk about books forever, why not try some of these out, and see if they open up new worlds for you. Warning a few are kids books, but they have held up over time.
